I Never Plan to Fail

“If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail”???

I usually don’t wait until the very end of the year before I take stock of my set goals and I will explain why. You know that moment in a football match when a goal is scored a minutes to the end of the match??? It also applies to our day to day life; last minutes execution or miracle is so real and true. So I usually will take stock of the activities for the year a month or more before the end of the year. And if you wish to know why this is, please continue reading.

The Fully Embellished Cape Top

Hi Lovelies, It’s a new week and I am excited. Trust you are too.

This top has been trending for about a week now but I thought it wouldn’t be complete if I do not drop it here. I am excited and happy to announce that this top is my best selling top this season. It’s better seen in real life than in pictures as all pictures are not able to capture the level of embellishment on this top. Very versatile top, it can be worn in all weather and on any garment,be it skirts (flared or straight), pants or dress. If time permits me, I will style this top in varied ways and make on post on that sometime soon.

His Pieces Inspire Me: Brandon Maxwell's Spring 2018 Ready-To-Wear Collection

Mayowa Nicolas in Brandon Maxwell Spring 2018 RTW(
As an ardent fan of Brandon Maxwell, I make it a point of duty to look out for his collections/ works. And when I come across any of his works, be it a single piece or collection, I don’t just watch rather I study them(it) with so much attention and with the intention to understand his tricks, techniques and all. His works are effortless, compelling and highly structured. So his pieces appear simple right? But I see so much sophistication when I look at them.

The Bella Comfy Bell Sleeves Ankara Dress

Hi Lovelies, trust you are doing fine.

I decided today to feature the so much talked about Bella Comfy Ankara Dress which has been featured as usual on different and reputable pages on Instagram. The word Comfy, which is found in the name of this beautiful dress comes in handy for me as the dress is really very comfortable. I used to say that “fashion is comfort” so for me whatever makes me uncomfortable is not fashion and this goes a long way to define my style personality (About Style Personality)

6 Useful Lessons Learned From My One Year of Blogging

I have learnt a lot as a blogger and I must say it has been very challenging blogging especially because I have to juggle many other life activities with blogging. I used to tell people that I am a business analyst by day, a blogger at night, then a mother and a wife at all times – sound rather tedious right? But bet me I enjoy what I do. Blogging has taught me more about how to manage and balance my time. I discussed time management in my previous post, please check it out here(Time Management)

DIY: The Zaza Multi Print Wrap Skirt

Hi Lovelies, hope you are good today!

One of the ways in which I motivate myself every day (aside reading my bible) is by looking out for motivating lines out of the numerous ones flying around on the internet. And believe you me it works; I make these lines my watch/guide lines for the week or the day as the case may be. Just try it out and you will love it. So this is my guide line this week, “The best way to predict the future is to create it” – Abraham Lincoln.

Let’s talk about your body shape (Part 7): The Apple Body Shape

Hey Lovelies!
TGIF! I hope you've had a lovely week.

So in this post I will be discussing that last type of a woman's body shape on my list, the apple body shape.Women who have the apple body shape have their shoulders wider than their hips with some sort of oval stomach. There are usually no clear separation between the waist and the hip; their upper half is usually bigger than their lower half. So in order to achieve a balanced body shape, go for outfits that add more volume to your lower half (i.e. the hip) so as to create the big hip illusion.

Let’s talk about your body shape (Part 6): The Pear Body Shape

Hi Lovelies, hope your today is going fine!

This post is a continuation of our discussion on understanding the woman's body shape and this post will give you in-depth understanding of one of the body shapes,The Pear Body Shape.
Also known as the triangle body shape, hip is wider than the shoulder/bust area; hip curves are very prominent and usually with somewhat cinched waist. Over 20% of women are said to have the pear body shape. In some cases, pear body shape have been mistaken for hourglass.

Tuesday, 21 March 2017

Let’s talk about your body shape (Part 5): The Straight Body Shape

Also called “Banana Body Shape”, the shoulders, waist and hips are all roughly the same measurement, there is no defined waist hence the reason it is called “straight body shape”. So this shape looks more like a cylinder and as high as 46% of women are said to fall within this body shape category.

Let’s talk about your body shape (Part 4): The Hourglass Body Shape

Let’s talk about your body shape (Part 3)

Hi Lovelies, hope your day is going fine.

I personally feel that this topic can never be over flogged as a lot of us still do not understand our body shape, hence the reason we usually will go for outfits that are not meant for our body shape. If you are wondering what I am talking about, then you have to continue reading……….

Let's Talk About Your Body Shape(Part 2)

Weekend Style Idea: What’am Thinking! – Off Shoulder

Hi Lovelies, hope you had a fruitful week? Mine was a bit hectic but I am happy it's been fruitful.

Wardrobe Essentials With Awed By Moni

Hi Lovelies, hope your day has been good.

One of the best things in life is doing what you love. And how do I mean, when you do what you love, there is a feeling of happiness, joy and fulfillment. For me hanging out with fashionistas, discussing fashion and styles; and engaging in activities relating to them are things I love to do. So, I’d come across a post on Instagram by Awedbymoni informing and inviting fashion lovers to come over at Meidei Ilupeju for some sort of style and fashion discussion last Saturday the 4th of March - my area of interest it is of course, so I made it and I did not regret it.

The Fur Trend: Take or Ditch

As one of the oldest form of clothing, fur has evolved into something very stylish, fashionable and dramatic. Also seen as luxurious clothing meant for warm, some actually turn it down due to some moral belief which borders on animal cruelty concerns. Heee guys, there are sure so much to know about fur, the evolution and all if you click here, here and here.

WIWT: The Turquoise Asymmetric Dress

Hi Lovelies, hope you had a good day?

So this is what I wore today……..the Turquoise asymmetric dress, this dress reminds of the saying “You don’t have to break the bank in order to look good”. I bought this dress sometime in 2015 – I think July or August, then I was on maternity leave. I saw it, liked it and ordered for it asap but couldn’t wear it at that time because of the weight I gained post maternity. I remembered this dress a few days ago, so I brought it out, fitted it and it was perfect. Bought at a very affordable price I felt so cool in the dress.

DIY/OOTD: The Ivory Embellished Sash Jumpsuit

Hi Lovelies, happy Val’s day and big cheers to you and yours!

I'd stated  in the post I made a couple of days ago(click here to see the post) that I show love to people around me every other day but I acknowledge the fact that today’s been set aside as lover’s day. I basically see it as a day set aside to reiterate the importance of love.

At The 2017 Grammys

It's that period of the year when I look out for fashion and styles on the red carpet; it's Grammys 2017. I look out for celebs who will break the fashion norms and rules. But does fashion have rules these days? I basically double it because we are in a time where fashion is highly experimental, creative, original and out of this world. So you get to see a lot of fashion inventions, especially with indescribable kind of outfits as seen on Lagy Gaga Ceelo Green, Taraji P. Henson, Katy Perry, Jauqueline Van Bierk and a few more

DIY/OOTD: The Waist Sash Pant & Off Shoulder top.

Hi Lovelies! Hope the week’s going fine?

This is what I wore today, The Waist Sash Pant & Off shoulder top and my look today explains who I am. Just as in Rachel Zoe’s words “Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak" I had made a post in the past about style personalities and stuffs, just trying to explain how what we wear explains who we are. Click here and here if you missed this informative posts.

What’s Your Valentine’s day like?

I use to tell my friends that every day is Valentine's day. But then as funny as this statement may sound, it means a lot to me. I acknowledge that Valentine's day is a day set aside in remembrance of Saint Valentine of Rome, the martyr. In the 14th century, Geoffrey Chaucer had associated Saint Valentine’s Day with romantic love, maybe because of Saint Valentine’s care and love towards his jailer daughters, Asterius. To cut the long story short, you could click here to read more about Valentine’s Day.
