Ashley Graham in H&M |
Hi Lovelies!
Trust you had a lovely weekend and holiday too!
If you missed
the METGALA 2017 like I did……lol, you might want to catch up via this post. And again like you already know, it's been
research, read up, find out for me in the past couple of weeks and guess what, I
am so enjoying it.
This year’s MET GALA’s team solely centered on Rei Kawakubo
of Comme Des Garcons, a Japanese Fashion designer whom I have taken out time to
study and whom I describe as weird, eclectic, creative and engaging. So the
celebs who attended this year’s MET GALA consciously tried to re-create Rei’s creations/pieces.
O my! So interesting. Rihanna never recreated, rather she went straight on for
one of Rei Kawakubo’s Autumn/Winter 2016 ready-to-wear numbers and she did just
justice to this piece. Rei’s pieces are ones that I have always wondered who on
earth could wear; lovely on the runway, sparks my creative imagination, but
who, how and where it can be worn to is something I have always wondered about.
Jourdan Dunn did a nice work with her re-creation of Comme des Garcon’s number
while a whole lot of other celebs had rocked the regular.
Talking
about the regular, Topshop seemed to have taken some sort of center stage at
METGALA 2017 red carpet as a good number of their bespoke and custom pieces
were seen on the red carpet and again on some very pretty celebs as well. Then again H&M was well represented on the red carpet in my opinion as a H&M dress happens to be my best overall outfit on the red carpet.
Here are my
best from MET GALA 2017 red carpet and these so much reflects my personality. I like to keep it simple.
Excellent re-creation of Rei Kawakubo. But is this really the Future of Silhouette as suggested by Rei Kawakubo's theme for her AW2017 ready-to-wear collection?

Thanks for stopping by. Xoxo
