DIY: The Blush Oldie Gather Dress

I have picked my motivating line for the new week. A quote by Gabrielle Bernstein “Allow your passion to become your purpose and it will one day become your profession”. You may wonder, how this ties into this post with the tittle “The Blush Oldie Gather Dress”. Just continue reading so we could unravel the meaning of that line together.

The dress I blog about in this post was born out of passion. I have passion for creativity and craft which I made a purpose by putting my passion to work, and then today it has become my profession. I say it has become my profession because I have requests from friends to make wears for them. So imagine if I have taken to making wears commercially today, I would have a profession which is born out of passion. So obviously when one puts his or her passion to work it will most likely become his or her profession some day.

I had made my blush oldie gather dress using a polish cotton I bought from Lagos Island. When I was a teen, I had a dress that looked exactly like this and I liked it so very much. So what I have done here is to replicate my old dress hence the reason I gave it the name blush oldie gather dress.

Styling the outfit: I had tried out two sets of footwear for curiosity sakes – I’d worn my ankle boot and also the red sandals.
