DIY: The Michy Ankara Crop Top and Matching Palazo

Hi Lovelies! Happy new week.
This is what I looked like today. I wore one of my latest piece, The Michy Ankara crop top and matching palazzo. For this particular pieces, I’d used patterns (bodice and pant) I drafted in 2013 and I am supper excited it gave me this fab fit.

I am still putting some stuffs together for my highly sort after tutorials on how I make my outfits. I promise you guys, the basic patterns – bodice, skirts and maybe pants will be among my first tutorials.

One thing that is prominent about my outfit is the designs on the crop top and then the border or hem area of the pant. I created the design using a simple cotton bias. So what I did was to line the top with bias and this process, sewing those bias to the top and the pant hem area took me about 5 hours or more. I had also stone the bias in order to achieve a highlighted kind of embellishment. Great work it was but I am happy I did that.

Styling the Outfit: I opted for a black court shoe and the nude cross body bag(my newly found bag crush…lol) I had also kept my jewelries minimal.
