AFWN 2016; Make it a Date to Lagos Nigeria

African Fashion Week Nigeria (AFWN) is here again. This is one fashion show in Nigeria that in my opinion has paved way so very much for the young and upcoming fashion designers in and outside the shores of Nigeria as well as beaming more search light on some of our prominent fashion designers like Yomi Casual, Ade Bakare and Coz Designs etcetera.

The team has announced line up of designers who will be showcasing in this year’s show which will be taking place at Eko Hotel and Suites Lagos from the 1st to 3rd of July 2016



According to AFWN team, AFWN 2016 will include 5 Catwalk Shows, 50 Designers, a Fashion Gala & awards Night and panel discussions aimed at promoting Nigeria as a production hub.

Ade Bakare – a classy and very prominent fashion designer whose works have been greatly influenced by his travel to and fro Lagos and London.

Yomi Casual – a unisex African attire in its highest form of elegance.

House of Tangerine – a complete fashion house for simple and trendy fashionistas. It was founded in 2012 by Yemi Alade

Coz Designs – a luxury unisex leather brand founded by Oreoluwa Osoba and Ngwube Adanna

Nipo – a unisex fashion house based in Ghana which has been in existence for over a decade.



RIKAOTO – owned by Kebbi State ex-beauty queen Mariam Elisha


Signature Secret – founded by Mrs Oreva Okowa who is also the founder/National President of Fashion Designers and Exhibitors Association (FADEA) and the Convener of The Delta Fashion Designer (DFD)



Morin O. – a contemporary global leather and accessories brand which represents originality, quality and craftsmanship.




Ekaz Signature Creations – an Afrocentric high fashion project. Ekaz also has a training facility.



Victoria Grace – elegant fashion brand which closes up the gap between western and African style.



Tubo – founded in 2014 by Sandrah Tubobereni. She is known for her creativity in redesigning the traditional African attires, chic pret-a-porter fashion clothing and distinctive haute couture pieces with amazing silhouette.



Afrik Abaya – a fashion brand which has infused the African textiles and fashion accessories into the traditional Middle Eastern female attire called Abaya.

Rois and Reine – a men’s fashion house which specliaizes in cooperate, traditional and smart casual attires.

TIR Fashion House – has created spring summer collection which fuses modern contemporary design with influences from West Africa.
