OOTD/DIY: The Diamond Short Ball Dress

Hi Lovelies, hope you had a fantastic day? I did but if you did not, please remember that somethings we encounter in life are for good life lessons; just stay positive.

Today I wore one of my latest pieces, “The Diamond Short Ball Dress”. Just like you already know, I like short dresses because they always come out smart and simple…..wink😜😜😜***

I made this dress using Ankara fabric – reason is to answer this question from some peeps who had called or sent in messages to find out the kind of fabric I used in making the dress. On one of my trips to the market, I saw this fabric displayed and it quickly caught my attention. I immediately fell in love with the fabric because of the diamond-like designs on it, the colour combination and again it looked somewhat dramatic. It looked more like an art work to me. I quickly grabbed it. Designing and patterning this dress was a very interesting moment for me because I had to also bring out the creativity in me through the design placements. So the placement of the designs both on the bodice and pleat skirt area of the dress is a conscious effort which eventually came out fine. It took me quite some time but then the work paid off.

My style is always simple. I decided to rock the dress with a black clutch and a cream/ivory-like pump shoe from my younger sister's collection (check her out @BCube Classics).

I had also made for myself a pant and cape top with the remaining fabric. Stay tuned to my blog as I will be posting it in a few days.
