Hermes is
a brand that has got great celebs and ladies in generally when it comes to
handbags. Remember in years past and up on till now, the Hermes Birkin bag had made huge
weaves among great celebs like Kim Kardashian, Victoria Beckham, Heidi Klum, Jane Birkin, Bethenny Frankel, Olivia
Palermo, Kimora Lee, Beyoncé, Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, Irina Shayk, Tamala Jones,
just to mention but a few. Then down in Nigeria, we’ve spotted Genevieve Nnaji,
Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Seyi Shay, Annie Idibia and may be a few other Nigerian
big girls in Hermes Birkin. Hermes has also got this record of producing the world’s most
expensive handbag sold at $298,000; so for me obviously it’s
a brand for the upper class, it is all about luxury and status.
So while on my usual fashion website tour, I saw these Hermes handbags, loved them so
much but my heart jumped out of my mouth when I looked at the price section and
saw the prices to be $49,000 i.e. NGN17, 784,000 (@ NGN360 per dollar) for the Plipat
Hermes clutch and then $30,400
(NGN10, 944,000) for the Double Sens Croco handbag. Then I remember my mum’s
advice that “It is good to dream big”, so I pinched myself so I could wake up
because I was sure dreaming…..that’s on a lighter note anyway!
Go Hermes!!!

Obviously Hermes have got lovely stuff but they are buys for the brave.
